Is your DSD (Days Sales Demand - # of full and empty cylinders in inventory versus demand) more than 7? What is your cylinder utilization? % cylinders in customer hands at end of month divided by total number of cylinders. Is it greater than 80%? If you are not achieving these levels, you are losing money.
Are your products losses greater than 20% and why? Do you measure them and do you know what to do to decrease your losses. The number liquid containers you fill per month has a significant impact.
If you have multiple filling locations, have you done a study to assure that you are producing the right product in the right cylinder at the right location?
What are your cylinder maintenance costs? Are they less than $8.50 per cylinder?
Do you know your average cylinder delivery costs and how that compares to bench-marks? You need to be making deliveries for less than $10.00 per cylinder?
Are you in complete compliance with FDA Guidelines?
Are you aware of the FBI's Chemicals of Concern and DOT HM232 Security Guidelines?
Are you in full compliance with DOT regulations including your self-audits?
Have you done an economic evaluation and market evaluation to determine if you should produce and sell specialty gases?
